Gerry Cassidy BSc. (Hons), MRTPI
Gerry is our most recent member of staff. He is a Chartered Town Planner having graduated with a BSc (Hons) from Edinburgh College of Art / Heriot Watt University in 1992. Gerry has gained valuable experience in town planning work being employed by East Kilbride District Council between 1989 and 1990 as a student planner; Dumfries & Galloway Council for six years both as a Development Control Officer and then as a Local Plan Officer. Until 2004 Gerry was working on the emerging West Lothian Local Plan further developing an intimate appreciation of local authority mechanisms and their interactions with the development industry. He has undertaken specific policy research on topics including affordable housing, developer contributions, environmental assessment and local plan audits. As a former Director of Planning Aid for Scotland he is an experienced public speaker, has lectured at Heriot-Watt University and local colleges, and been involved in a wide range of high profile development projects.
