    Two City Employees Selected to Join the 2007 Congress of Outstanding Young Floridians: Two City of Gainesville employees, Carolyn Cassidy and Shaad Rehman were selected to join the 2007 Congress of Outstanding Young Floridians. Every year, the Florida Junior Chamber (Jaycees) recognizes ten individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 for their exceptional service in a specific organization or profession. Carolyn, a Crime Analyst with the Gainesville Police Department, was the recipient of the Cooper-Taylor-Moon Memorial Award (Public Safety/Law Enforcement Award), presented to the Florida citizen who has done the most to promote public safety.

    Carolyn Cassidy has been a Crime Analyst with the Gainesville, Florida Police Department for four years. Throughout this time she has had the opportunity to experience great training, attend several conferences and has worked with some outstanding people along the way.

    In 2001, Carolyn received a Masters Certificate in Crime Mapping and Data Analysis from the University of Central Florida. She has been a member of the Florida Crime and Intelligence Analyst Association since 2002, when she came on board with GPD. Carolyn became the Secretary of the International Association of Crime Analysts in May 2004.

    In December 2005, after completing the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Analyst Academy, Carolyn became an FDLE Certified Crime Intelligence Analyst. She received her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida in May 2006.

    As part of the Administrative and Technical Services Bureau, Carolyn provides Tactical and Investigative Analysis to Operational and Investigative personnel, as well as various administrative projects assigned by her command.
