   Karen L. Cassiday, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist. She completed her Ph.D. at the Finch Universtiy of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School Dept. of Clinical Psychology and her predoctoral internship at University of Mississippi Medical Center/Jackson UAMC. She is on faculty at Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School and Rush Medical School and maintains an active teaching career. She has published research and case studies in the area of anxiety disorders. She enjoys presenting her work at local, regional, and national meetings. Her areas of special interest are obsessive-compulsive disorder, compulsive hair pulling, shyness, and anxiety in children. She serves as the co-chair of the Scientific Board of the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago.

   Karen Lynn Cassiday PhD, ACT, is a licensed clinical psychologist who has treated children, teens and adults suffering from TTM and anxiety disorders for the past 23 years. She is the chairman of the scientific advisory board of OCD Chicago, a member of the clinical advisory board of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America and a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She is the owner and clinical director of the Anxiety & Agoraphobia Treatment Center, Ltd. in Chicago and Northbrook, IL, a group private practice that specializes in treating anxiety disorders, impulsive control disorders and OC spectrum disorders. She is a clinical assistant professor at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Sciences and an instructor in the departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at Rush Medical School. Her publications and presentations are in the area of the anxiety disorders, impulse control disorders and OC spectrum disorders.

   Severely struck entomophobics "won't go on picnics, or go out in the yard or they'll poison their house with insecticides," said Karen Cassiday, a clinical psychologist with the Anxiety and Agoraphobia Treatment Center in Northbrook. "Just the thought of touching one sends them through the roof." Some, she said, "think the insect is looking at them."
