During a visit to Town Hall to pay a property tax bill I over heard from an office deeper inside the tax office an architect complaining to someone about how Pete Casserly (our Planning Board's Director) stated that "His Copiague" was not going to become a Queens, NY. "Too late," the architect added while everyone in the entire Property Tax Collection office shock their heads in full agreement to the man's voice as it dropped from the other room. It can get all so sticky and upsetting. Which is normal for government, right? American's favorite punching bag - the politicians are. But as often there are just reasons for the public's angst. If you ever get to a town board meeting you'll be horrified how the board just rattles off the code number for proposals and approves them - not ever telling the audience what they are!

Leaders like Rich and Pete Casserly are assets to us.
