Jeffrey Cassel , MD

Dr. Cassel has been a practicing Family Physician in Westbrook for more than 27 years.He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.Dr. Cassel serves as the Medical Chief of Staff at the Westbrook Health Center, and also serves as the Cottonwood County Coroner.

Dr. Cassel was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin and raised on a family farm east of Rochester, Minnesota.After graduation from high school, he attended the University of Minnesota-Morris and graduated with distinction earning his Bachelor of Science degree in biology.He entered the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Cardio-Pulmonary Technician at the School of Aerospace Medicine.He attended the Mayo Medical School and was later commissioned a reserve officer in the U.S. Air Force.His residency was completed at the USAF Medical Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and was followed by a return to the School of Aerospace Medicine.After becoming a flight surgeon, Dr. Cassel completed three years at Pope Air Force Base.

Upon his honarable discharge from the Air Force, Dr. Cassel moved to Westbrook, Minnesota to settle and raise his family of three children.He enjoys restoring old cars and continues to serve as a captain in the Civil Air Patrol.
