Douglas L. Cassel is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and graduate of Central Dauphin High School. Mr. Cassel was educated at Gettysburg College and Widener University School of Law. While enrolled at Widener University School of Law, he was involved with various programs including the Civil Law Clinic, representing local indigent clients; Equal Justice Works, a national community service group; and the Trial Advocacy Honor Society.
Mr. Cassel is the most recent addition to Caldwell & Kearns. Prior to taking the bar examination and throughout most of his law school career, he worked as a law clerk for the firm. Mr. Cassel is a member of the Dauphin County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. Within the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Mr. Cassel is a member of the Real Property, Trust and Probate Section, as well as the Tax Section. His current practice areas include estate planning, corporate law, business planning law, real estate law, tax law, municipal law, unemployment compensation law and general civil litigation.
Mr. Cassel is presently pursuing an L.L.M. in taxation from Temple School of Law, which will be completed in the Spring of 2007. He is also associate counsel to the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® and spends a significant amount of time counseling REALTORS® on the "Legal Hotline."
Mr. Cassel is a member of the East Shore Kiwanis Club. He also spends time volunteering for the American Cancer Society. Specifically, Mr. Cassel volunteers in the Road to Recovery program, transporting patients without means of travel to their physician appointments and radiology treatments.
