Maria Cassaniti Project Officer
Maria Cassaniti, BSW, is a social worker who has worked in a variety of mental health settings since 1991, including rehabilitation and acute care. Maria has worked at the Transcultural Mental Health Centre (TMHC) since 1994 and during this time she has undertaken a number of roles including: clinical services and language subcommittee support officer, instituting consumer and carer participation at the TMHC, presenting and delivering training on transcultural mental health issues in a variety of settings, coordinating TMHC planning and evaluation initiatives and coordinating the young people of NESB and mental health project. During her 6 years with the TMHC Maria has also coordinated a number of the TMHC's major conferences, forums and workshops. Maria is currently the Team Leader of the TMHC Mental Health Promotion Team and is overseeing as well as involved in a number of projects focussing on young people and mental health, suicide prevention, family psycho-education and rural outreach.
