Alva John Cass , 73 , of Bonaparte , died at 2 p.m. Tuesday , Oct. 16 , 2001 , at the Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.

Born June 25 , 1928 , in Bonaparte , he was the son of Duane and Trilla Myers Cass.Mr. Cass attended Bonaparte High School and was a lifelong resident of the Bonaparte area.He was a farmer.

He was a charter member of Farmington Rod & Gun Club , past commandant of the Iowa Marine Corps League , a charter member of Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League in Burlington and department chaplain for many years.

He is survived by one brother , John Cass of Bonaparte , and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington , where the family will receive friends from 6 : 30 to 7 : 30 p.m..
