   Theresa initially became interested in the weather when she saw a tornado form her back yard in Melrose in 1980. She was fascinated with the weather from that point on. In 1994, Theresa heard about the "spotters" and knew she had to become one. Due to her work schedule, she would have to be one of the post-Twister spotters/chasers. She finally became a spotter in 1999, then a chaser in 2000. On her first chase ever, she saw a tornado in Glenwood! Theresa then became a Skywarn Trainer for the National Weather Service. She has really put a lot of time and effort into learning more about the weather and forecasting, something she enjoys greatly.
