Jennifer is in her second year as a Curriculum and Technology Staff Development Specialist at CESA 5. She earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from UW-Stevens Point in 1992. Her teaching career began at Auer Avenue Elementary School in Milwaukee, where she taught grades 2 and 3.
In 1998, Jennifer earned a master's degree in Computer Science Education from Cardinal Stitch University, Milwaukee. She then taught elementary computer in Spring Grove, Ill., until 2003.
She enjoys going on motorcycle rides, camping, walking, reading, biking, and rollerblading, and well as watching NASCAR, the Packers and the Badgers. -

"It makes the writing process a little more fun and interesting when they have a real audience they're writing to and it gives them a reason for why they're writing this," said Jennifer Casper, a curriculum and technology specialist at CESA 5 helping administer the grant.
She said cooperative projects like these also develop teamwork skills as well the core writing and learning abilities needed to put together a newspaper.
"When they're doing a book report, they're just working by themselves - they're not learning the skills needed to work with a group," Casper said.
