Kathy Casparius
Kathy Casparius is a math teacher at Cony High School in Augusta, Maine. With twenty-seven years of teaching experience, Kathy has taught all levels of mathematics from Remedial Math to AP Calculus, as well as teaching courses in the Business/Technology Department. She has been an active member of the District Mathematics Committee, currently serving as the chairperson. She was a member of the steering committee for the district Future Search Committee, and served on the Cony Curriculum and Attendance Committees, and currently is Affirmative Action Officer for the Augusta School Department. Kathy was elected President of the Augusta Education Association and served on the negotiating teams for the three units in the district and was chair of the Maine Education Association Leadership Committee. She coaches for the Cony Math Teams, has worked on the National Engineers' Week Celebration Committee for the past three years, and, for the past fifteen years, served as a judge for the MATH COUNTS competitions. Kathy was recognized in the International Who's Who of Technology in 2000 and completed a MERITS Internship during the summer of 2001. She completed her Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Technology Education at Thomas College. Since 1990, she has taught Continuing Education courses as well as Graduate courses in mathematics and computer science for Thomas College and has earned the position of Associate Adjunct Professor. -
