After the AGM and catching up with colleagues over dinner, the conference began on Saturday morning with Dr Andrew Cashin , a lecturer in nursing at Newcastle University, and CNC for mental health on the Central Coast.He discussed the implications of diabetes and mental health, and what happens when these two conditions co-exist

In the afternoon, Dr Cashin conducted an interesting workshop, introducing a mental health depression assessment tool, (which can be downloaded from the NSW health database), and there was a very interactive discussion on how to contact mental health intake centres.
