   Carl "Cubby" Cashen, Program Director
   
   Cubby was born and raised in Ohio, "the heart of it all". He attended Otterbein College where he was involved with many teams (track and cross country), organizations and clubs. He decided while in college that he should probably get a degree in something, so he put his paw on a few majors: Physical Education, Psychology, and Sports Wellness and Management. In the summers, he decided to leave the natural beauty of Ohio farmlands to explore other horizons. He heard the call of summer camps and went running to them in Pennsylvania and Hawaii. There he realized he could play and enjoy the outdoors while teaching children about the outdoors. He then ventured to California where the climate and ecosystem were better suited for his lifestyle. As a cub, he had to find his niche and territory, so he traveled throughout Southern California and tried to settle at several outdoor schools. He even migrated across the country with eight teenagers on bicycle one summer hoping it would pay off in the end. Finally, after years of searching for his perfect habitat, he laid his den at Camp Ocean Pines where he is now Program Director.
