    Anna began learning the violin in Ireland before going to the Yehudi Menuhin School at the age of twelve.

    She is currently the Mills William Junior Fellow at the Royal College of Music where she studied with Itzhak Rashkovsky.She graduated from the Royal College of Music (RCM) this summer with a Masters Degree in Performance with Distinction.

    Her Postgraduate studies were supported by the Irish Arts Council, a Myra Hess Award from the Musicians Benevolent Fund and Martin Musical Scholarship.

    At the RCM she was a Foundation Scholar and was awarded the Tagore Gold Medal in 2004.This year she was awarded RCM String Player of the Year receiving the Jacqueline Ward Memorial Prize.

    As the 2006 winner of the Ian Stoutzker Violin Prize she gave a performance at Wigmore Hall where she was presented with the Raymond Fox Bursary from Making Music.

    As Concerto Soloist she has toured France and Ireland with the Bern Jugend Symfonier Orkester.She also has given performances with the Dorset Philharmonic and with Camerata Ireland conducted by Barry Douglas.

    As winner of the Ireland Funds award at the Belfast Classical Music Bursary she has performed as a recitalist in Ireland, England, France, Belgium and Germany.

    This year she was a prize-winner at the Bromsgrove International Platform.The Concordia Foundation has supported Anna since 2003 when she first played for their series of Building Bridges through Music and the Arts.She was awarded the Serena Nevill Prize from the Foundation in 2004.

    Anna also enjoys playing chamber music particularly with her brother Ben and sister Sophie in the Cashell trio with whom she has given recitals in venues such as St. Martins in the Fields and St. James's Piccadilly, as well as playing in many festivals in Ireland.Anna is a member of Panoply sextet with whom she has performed in London and China.

    Prizewinning violinist Anna Cashell is the soloist in Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the A40 Choir and fully professional A40 Concert Orchestra's next concert, on Saturday 18 November, at 7:30 p.m..The Choir will be singing Handel's Four Coronation Anthems - including Zadok the Priest.
