HÜnenberg, Switzerland-James I. Cash Jr., PhD, has resigned from Alcon Inc.'s board of directors, citing increased demands on his time.
As a board member of Microsoft Corp., Dr. Cash recently was named chair of its antitrust compliance subcommittee.
"This additional activity will take a great deal of my time, and I find I must cut back on my service on some other boards, one of which is Alcon," he said.
Dr. Cash is senior associate dean and the James E. Robison Professor of BusinessAdministration of the Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University, and chairman of Harvard Business School Publishing.
Alcon said it would nominate a replacement for Dr. Cash at its general meeting of shareholders in May.
