   Vivid Variations comprises eight dances by a stellar group of established and emerging choreographers, brought to life by the YDE under the artistic direction of York professor and independent choreographer, Susan Cash.
   
   The spirited repertory company of York's dance department, YDE features outstanding young artists on the brink of their professional careers. Since its establishment in 1988, the ensemble has debuted many works by Canadian and international guest choreographers, faculty and students.

   Cash offers a restaging of her solo, icefields, excerpted from a larger work titled Body/Space/Desire, originally commissioned by Dancemakers, and a redeveloped Interbeing, a collaborative inter-cultural work bubbling with mystical gossip, created with choreographer, dancer and York alumnus Sashar Zarif.

   Directed by Susan Cash, the ensemble comprises up-and-coming young performers Robyn Alfonso, Heather Ball, Samantha Clowes, Laura Day, Diana DePalo, Jennifer Ellis, Nicole Leone, Ivana Matovina, Kate Nankervis, Jacqueline Ricci, Tatsunori Senna, Jennifer Templeton, and Shirin Yousefi.

   They will present three short works: Small's Duet and two ensemble pieces: Garden, choreographed by Cash, and Wait by Zarif.
   
   Callison, the artistic coordinator of the Dance Independent Project, has presented his works across Canada and in Mexico. A member of T.I.D.E. (Toronto Independent Dance Enterprise) for many seasons, he formed his own company, Da Collision, in 1990, and has created many works for the ensemble.
