Marian Cash

South Central CAPE welcomed its new director, Marian Cash, in late March 2004. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the United Way of Lawrence County.
From the Bedford Times-Mail, Saturday, March 13, 2004:
"After a thorough search, we feel confident that Marian Cash is the best person to carry on the successful implementation of the CAPE programs that we have grown accustomed to under the direction of the former director Beth Sluys," wrote George Kersey, PDK international executive director, in a press release.

"Ms. Cash brings to the position a wealth of experience that will promote not only sustainability, but also continued growth of the many invaluable educational programs that CAPE offers Indiana's south central area." -

"This amount is what we need to be able to increase allocations again from the cuts that we were forced to do earlier this year," said United Way Executive Director Marian Cash.
In April, the United Way board of directors reduced the amount agencies were expected to receive by 6 to 12 percent when the 2002 campaign fell about $50,000 short of the needed amount.
The campaign raised a record amount - nearly $330,000 - but that amount was not enough to meet the agencies' requests and fund its administrative costs.

Cash said board members are optimistic that the goal can be met. Cash said advanced planning - she's been working on this effort since the last campaign ended - and campaign chairman Beryl Horrall's enthusiasm will make the difference.
"We're actually taking a completely different approach than we have in the past," Cash said.
Horrall, a United Way board member, said the different approach is seen in the campaign theme, "Answer the Challenge."
The challenge, he said, is two-fold. -
