Ian S. Cash
Vice Chair
Ian has been a carer for 25 years for his wife who is blind and a wheelchair user because of multiple sclerosis. He has held a number of posts for West Lancashire Branch of Carers UK and he is a founder member of the West Lancashire Young Carers Project.
His proudest moment was representing carers at a social occasion at 10 Downing Street, where he was able to express some of the problems and concerns that carers have.
Since being a member of the board for Carers UK Ian has represented carers on both the RNIB and TOPSS. He is also carer representative on the ACE project. He is currently Vice-chair of Lancashire carer's forum and Chair as from September 2003.
Prior to being a carer Ian was a nurse. He has a teaching certificate through night school, and he is an ardent supporter of life long learning, especially for carers.
