   Valerie Casey, associate creative director at Modem Media/Vivid Studios and MSP graduate said students should get jobs once they complete the course, but said they needed a better idea of what they want to do.
   
   "They have to come out with a focus and they must be able to articulate what they want," said Casey, who also teaches Web design to students enrolled in regular sessions at the college. "That might be different at a startup because people end up wearing a lot of hats."
   
   She added that the success of the course depended on what students brought into it, noting that the program was excellent for those who had life experience and particularly those who had completed an undergraduate degree or were looking to change careers.
   
   "I wouldn't substitute this program for an undergraduate degree. Everyone should have a college education because the course can't teach you everything you learn in your literature or history class," Casey said. "You should get a regular liberal arts degree and then focus your attention with something like IMSP."

   Casey said the strength of the IMSP was that students such as herself who had obtained a certificate went back to teach.
   
   "It is a continuous refeeding of knowledge," said Casey. "The Internet boom had only just scratched the surface. "There isn't a minute's rest for people in the industry because of technology. The potential of hand-held technology and [of] the web is enormous."
