Steven F. Casey is co-chairman of the Firm's Product Liability & Casualty Litigation Practice Group and is also a member of our Environmental Litigation Practice Group.Mr. Casey has a great deal of jury trial experience, having tried over 50 jury trials and many more non-jury cases, representing plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of matters, including electrical contact injury, pharmaceuticals, environmental, toxic tort, fraud, bad faith, arson & fire loss, breach of contract, real estate, ERISA, and securities fraud cases.More specifically:
In the electric utility industry, Mr. Casey has represented a number of utilities in cases involving claims for severe injuries or wrongful death as a result of persons coming into contact with overhead power lines.For a number of years, Mr. Casey has served as National Counsel for a pharmaceutical manufacturer in all cases involving one of its product lines.Mr. Casey also defends pharmaceutical manufacturers in cases brought by the attorneys general of several states claiming fraud in the pricing of drugs for sale to Medicaid patients.Mr. Casey has significant experience in mass tort cases defending against environmental and toxic tort claims.Mr. Casey has for years served as Alabama counsel for a nationally known insurance client, defending it in all disability and life insurance litigation brought against it in Alabama.Mr. Casey also regularly represents a major Alabama client of the Firm's on complex reservoir management matters, involving the application of real estate law, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations.Mr. Casey has also defended a national financing client in class action matters involving claims of fraud and breach of contract in connection with mortgage foreclosures.
