Richard D. Casey
PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY During the day, Dick Casey focuses on people. Through his practice in employment discrimination and civil litigation, he helps everyday individuals during some of the most difficult times of their life.
"I'm interested in lot of things. I love political science and history, and I always liked writing, especially fiction writing," he says. "Since school I've really acquired a heightened interest in music. I taught myself the guitar at 30. Now I do more songwriting than fictional writing. I am a big music fan and like almost all genres, but especially jazz."
Dick didn't seriously consider music when he was growing up. Of course, he didn't think about law at first either. His initial career choice was becoming a priest, an option he later dropped for law school. For Dick, the switch made perfect sense.
"At the wise old age of 15, I decided that the priesthood wasn't for me, and I changed my sights," he explains.

He and his wife, Beverly have three adult children: Courtney, an electrical engineer in Texas; Ryan, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and; Molly who was graduated from the University of Kansas in 2003. All three are grown.

Additionally, he serves on the Federal Judicial Center Foundation Board of Directors, and was Vice President of the President's Council of the Association of Trial Layers of America in 2001. In 2006, Dick was identified as one of the "Best Lawyers in America," for Labor and Employment Law.
