WILMINGTON, Del. (5/13/02) -- Goldey-Beacom College has hired Richard Casey of Philadelphia as its men's basketball coach.Casey has been an assistant coach at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP) since 1999.
"Rich comes to Goldey-Beacom with a wealth of experience and knowledge in terns of teaching and coaching the game of basketball at all levels," said Frank Aiello, GBC's assistant director of athletics and head women's basketball coach.

Prior to USP, Casey was the head coach at Neumann College (1997-99) and Manor Junior College (1994-97), and an assistant at Philadelphia's Archbishop Ryan High School.He has been a director of the Future Stars International Boys' and Girls' Summer Camps, the Philadelphia 76ers Basketball Day Camps, Metro Basketball Camps, and Five-Star Basketball Camps.Casey is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the Small College Association of Philadelphia.
Casey owns a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's in sports management from Temple University.He is an advance regional scout for Bertka Scouting Service, and has scouted for many Division-I men's and women's programs.
