KERRY CASEY
Mime/Physical Acting
Kerry has worked as an actor, physical performer, writer/director and teacher for over 20 years. He has appeared in many television shows and films (including Water Rats and the Power Rangers Movie). He taught mime to the company of Bell Shakepeare's Coriolanus, directed by Steven Berkhoff. Recently, he has directed and co-written the award-winning Le Bossu, a bilingual production for Theatre LOTE Fantastique, touring schools in Victoria and South Australia. He also directed La Princesse et la Révolution (an original work) and Bouncers. In 2004 he will appear in a national tour of Runners Up for Legs on the Wall. He has also worked with Belvoir St Theatre & the Mo Award-winning acrobatic troupe, Leaping Loonies. He has been teaching at the studios since the 1980s. -

Born and bred in Bondi, Kerry is one of Australia's most versatile actor/performers and performance-makers. His work spans a 25-year career to date in works ranging from the avant garde, to physical theatre and popular theatre, including extensive experience in bilingual theatre. Kerry has worked with such companies as Bell Shakespeare and Australia's leading physical theatre company, Legs on the Wall. Film appearances include roles in Moulin Rouge and George of the Jungle. Kerry is also deeply committed to his work as a teacher of physical acting, and is currently based at NIDA and AIM. -
