According to John Casey, business manager for Casio's Electronic Musical Instrument (EMI) Division, the LK-43 teaches you to play by lighting up the correct keys for the melody. "You simply follow along and soon you are on your way to playing," he said. "Any of the keyboard's 100 built-in tunes - from pop to classical - can be used as lesson tunes. There's even a three step lesson feature that lets you advance step-by-step so you can build your repertoire at your own pace," Casey added, "and with the new Voice Guide feature, the keyboard actually speaks to you and tells you the right fingers to use."
The LK-43 also includes the ability to connect the keyboard to your PC with a MIDI cable, and you can download songs into your PC from Casio's new website, www.casiosongs.com (A Windows 95/98/ME compatible PC is necessary as is the optional MIDI cable and interface). "In addition to the 100 built-in songs, you now have the ability to add additional music to your library," said Casey. There are 150 songs on the site at present, which can be purchased for $3.99 per song. After purchase, they are played by ‘sheet music'-style software, and the keyboard will light the proper keys. You can interact and learn at your own pace using Casio's Score Navigation Software, which is available free via download from the site, and you can print the sheet music.
Casio expects this keyboard to be a hit with consumers all across America and it will be marketed through music retailers, mass merchants plus computer and toy stores at a suggested retail price of $269.00. -
