   IQS Appoints John J. Casey Vice President of IQS Innovation Center Casey will draw upon his 34 years of automotive quality experience to lead the strategic direction of solutions to today's critical automotive industry problems.
   
   CLEVELAND, OH - (August 31, 2004) IQS, Inc., the leading provider of Quality Performance Management software for enterprise improvement, has appointed John J. Casey to the position of Vice President, IQS Innovation Center. Casey brings extensive subject matter expertise to his position with IQS. He will draw upon his experience in quality management positions within the automotive industry to lead the strategic development of solutions that directly address the current production launch and warranty issues facing the automotive industry today.
   
   A 30-year General Motors veteran, Casey has served in several quality and supplier management positions, including North American Director of Supplier Quality at the corporate level, responsible for supplier quality improvement and new model readiness programs. Most recently, Casey served as Global Director Quality Line of Business for Covisint, responsible for developing common strategies and solutions to improve the integration of common objectives between OEM and supplier communities.
   
   With the expectation in the automotive industry today being perfection -- zero PPM, zero incidents, zero disruptions - manufacturers must develop new cost effective systems to meet these expectations, Casey contends. "The IQS Innovation Center is challenging the legacy thinking of the industry in order to create better methods to meet today's "Zero Issues Requirement," he notes.
   
   In this capacity, Casey will initiate thought leadership programs within the automotive industry that question the relevance of TS16949 registration, fill the gaps in historical PPAP processes with new strategic methodologies, and drive the elimination of Third Party inspection programs throughout the supplier community. Additionally, he will focus on tactics to quantify the return on investment in quality systems.
