    As Director of Research and Development at SeaChange International from 2000 to 2004, Carver developed the intellectual property, business strategy, partnerships, and product efforts that are now the basis of the company's personal television and advanced advertising products.He led development of core video-on-demand capabilities such as the new propagation service, advanced codec support, and IP delivery.He also fostered the engineering relationship with the company's first commercial telco customer.

    From 1999 to 2000 Carver was a Director in the Strategic Initiatives group at PictureTel Corporation.He joined PictureTel to bring digital television technologies into their traditional products and services.

    Previously, Carver was an Associate Director of the MIT Research Program on Communications Policy where he co-directed the project on Local Access Communications and directed the project on Multimedia Server Deployment for the US Army.Earlier, he held Visiting Scientist positions at MIT's Project Athena and Laboratory for Computer Science.

    Carver began his career in 1982 at Digital Equipment Corporation developing workstation products and technologies, which included the industry's first commercial product based on the X Window System standard.

    Carver is a member of ACM, IEEE, SCTE, and SMPTE.He holds several issued and pending patents.He received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
