James V. Caruso James Caruso is a Senior Consultant with Strategic Management Group, Inc.Mr. Caruso instructs and consults in the areas of marketing, strategy and finance.Some of his recent clients include Bell Atlantic, McGladrey & Pullen and Baxter.

Prior to joining SMG, Mr. Caruso worked as a management consultant to such industries as commercial banking, investment banking, consumer products, healthcare/pharmaceuticals, marketing research, portfolio management and transportation.He assisted executives in strategically organizing and effectively delivering persuasive and/or informative business communications, both internally and externally.Mr. Caruso has worked with such diverse clients as Chemical Bank, Fidelity Investments, Citibank, American Express, Smith Barney, Information Resources, Giltspur, CSX, Campbell's Soup, Unilever and Champion International.

Mr. Caruso obtained his CPA certificate while working at Deloitte Haskins & Sells (currently Deloitte & Touche).His most recent position there was a Project Manager for their National Accounting & Auditing Professional Development department.There he researched, designed, developed and delivered training programs for professional personnel.In addition, he actively participated in curriculum design, department administration and publications.

As a Senior Accountant, he contributed to the growth of Deloitte's structured finance/asset securitization team where he performed the pricing, closing, private placement and updates of various collateralized mortgage obligations and mortgage pass-through certificates (whole loan) transactions.Here he served various issuers, underwriters, trustees and counsel such as First Boston, Merrill Lynch, Prudential Securities, Bear Stearns, DLJ, FHLMC, Goldman Sachs, Shearson/Lehman Brothers, State Street Bank and Texas Commerce Bank.

His auditing and accounting clients at Deloitte included a commercial bank and its mortgage banking subsidiary, a savings bank, a mutual fund, municipal investment trusts, an investment advisor, a pension plan and a publishing company.

Mr. Caruso holds a B.S. in Accountancy from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from the Columbia Business School with concentrations in Management of Organizations and Marketing.
