   Timothy J. Cartwright is Managing Director of Compass Advisory Group, LLC.Mr. Cartwright founded the company in 2003, after serving as a Director at Falls River Group, a boutique mid-market investment bank.Mr. Cartwright recognized that financial engineering skills, those required to structure leverage buyouts and other specialized transactions, have become much more commonplace; and access to pools of capital once reserved for only the most connected individuals is no longer as strong a competitive advantage.Similarly, historical data on mergers and acquisitions indicate that a majority of business transaction fail to deliver their ROI objectives due to a lack of alignment between respective cultures and missions irrespective of the financial structuring.
   
   For these reasons, operating expertise has become important - if not more important - than financial expertise in generating superior transactions.
   
   Mr. Cartwright's most recent entrepreneurial endeavor was the creation of By-Products Interactive, Inc., an Internet marketplace and publishing company for the agricultural commodities business.While at By-Products Interactive, Tim and his partner built a business from concept to operating concern.This team was responsible for raising $4.5 MM in financing, recruiting a management team and developing a multivariate dynamic trading system for agricultural commodities.In addition, Tim was the lead principal for two strategic acquisitions and one divestiture representing over $150 MM in revenue.As the lead principal on these acquisitions, Tim was responsible for the entire M&A life cycle from target identification through post merger integration.
   
   In 1992, Tim founded Benchmark Solutions, Inc., a supply chain consulting company focused exclusively on the middle market manufacturing industry and its supply chain.Tim managed a group of 30 consultants that performed mission critical ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software implementations.Benchmark Solutions served an international client base completing projects in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Ireland.In 1999, he sold the company.Tim started his career with Arthur Andersen in Chicago.
