Sally Carricaburu

Sally Carricaburu canoed to Alaska through the Inside Passage in 1975, arriving in Juneau with $30 and a canoe.She has since received her MFA from the University of Alaska Anchorage, taught in the Alaska correctional system for 13 years, and worked as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Alaska for 25 years.She currently teaches a program for at-risk high school students.Her poetry has been published in Alaska Quarterly Review and Interim.

Jerah Chadwick is the Alaska State Writer Laureate as he enters his 24th year living in Unalaska.He has taught for eight years at Camp Qungaayux, the Unalaska culture camp.His first collection of poems, Story Hunger, was re-issued in February by Salmon Publishing of Ireland.

Sally Carricaburu teaches high school in Anchorage, Alaska, to Alaskan Native studies.She also teaches at the University of Alaska.Her poems have been published in Interim, Alaska Quarterly Review and others.Her son,an attorney in the Army Jag Corp, will be deployeed to Iraq.
