Carr headed for third term as sheriff in Carroll County
...
OSSIPEE - Republican incumbent Scott A. Carr, 47, of 2200 Route 16, Ossipee, is running unopposed for his third term as Carroll County sheriff, but said he is still focused on providing the best public service possible.
Carr and his wife of 28 years, Cindy, have lived their entire married life in New Hampshire, where their son was born and raised.
Carr received his bachelor of science in criminal justice form Nathaniel Hawthorne College in 1987 and graduated from Kennet High School "a long time ago," he said.
"What we have done, and will continue to do, is strive for excellence in high productivity and accountability. We have embraced new technology, and that has allowed us to become far more efficient, making us more productive for the folks in Carroll County," Carr said.
That accountability comes, in part, from his three years of service as a U.S. Army military police officer in both Germany and at Aberdeen Proving Ground Grounds in Maryland.
Carr is a member of the Police Standards and Training Council, after being appointed by the governor. He is also a member of the board of directors for Tri-County Community Action and vice president for the New Hampshire Sheriff's Association.
Carr said he hopes to keep improving the investigative techniques of his department along with brining the county into the high-tech era of police work.
"We have become very proficient of our knowledge and training of our criminal division. We are also often asked to perform criminal investigations by the Attorney General's Office to work on high profile cases, but that's because of our hard work with both technology and investigative techniques," Carr added.
