Ryan & Company named Richard V. Carlson, CMI, Principal, to head the new office.
Mr. Carlson and his team of state & local tax consulting and compliance professionals joined Ryan & Company's national state & local tax practice in June 2002.
In his new position, Mr. Carlson will focus on business development, service delivery, and recruiting efforts in the Pacific Region of the United States, building on Ryan & Company's existing presence and service delivery nationally.
He will also support Ryan & Company's many national accounts that operate in the region.
According to G. Brint Ryan, Ryan & Company Managing Principal, "We have a large and growing client base in the Pacific Region and we are excited to have Rich Carlson and his team join us in this market.
This new infrastructure will help us serve our many clients in this market even more effectively."
Prior to joining Ryan & Company, Mr. Carlson established his expertise in multi-state taxation with over 28 years of experience in various government, industry, and public accounting positions.
Mr. Carlson's experience includes seven years as an auditor and field audit supervisor with the California State Board of Equalization, eight years as the Director of Sales, Use, and Personal Property Tax for a major retailer, and 14 years as a Manager and Partner for a major national accounting firm.
Mr. Carlson currently serves as the 1 st Vice President for the Institute of Professionals in Taxation.
He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPAs, and the Tax Committee of the California Manufacturers & Technology Association.
