   In 1978 Preston started his career in the auto industry with a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership in the Midwest. With an auto dealership within 20 miles in any direction he knew that if a customer left without purchasing a vehicle he probably would not return on the be-back bus. Or if the customer did leave, follow up was the key to the sale. During the following 10 years Preston was able to achieve the Ford sponsored "Master Sales Counselor" award 6 times with total sales averaging over 310 units per year. This would rank him in the upper 10% of the sales people in the nation for the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury divisions. It did not take the dealership long to realize his value and within the next 8 years he was invited to purchase into the dealership as a partner. On several occasions Preston was invited by several area corporations to present sales seminars on the "Becoming a Sales Counselor and the Art of Selling" to their employees.
   
   With a continual dream to live in the Big Sky Country of Montana, Preston sold his shares back to the corporation and moved to northwest Montana where he was recruited to open up and manage a branch office for a local Ford/Volkswagen/Audi dealership. Two years later he accepted an invitation to be the general sales manager of a Chevrolet dealership who was building a new state of the art facility.
   
   During Preston`s 25 year tenure he has held positions that includes dealer partnership, general sales manager, sales manager, used vehicle manager, new vehicle manager, and F&I manager; as well as facilitating radio, newspaper and television campaigns and dealership sales training for new recruits.
