Piet is a long time staff member who started with EA in 1989.Piet brings a life long passion and enthusiasm for bicycling to his main responsibility of directing the Bike to Work/School program.With his guidance, the Bike to Work program has grown into a Santa Cruz tradition and one of the most successful bicycling programs in the country.The local Bike to Work effort has been recognized by the UN, the League of American Bicyclists, as well as many local agencies.Piet also staffs the Santa Cruz Bicycle Industry Coalition, the Electric Bicycle Commuter Incentive program and Santa Cruz Area TMA outreach effort.In 2004, Piet was named a United Way Community Hero for his years of service to improve cycling conditions for all residents.Piet is a member of the Community Traffic Safety Coalition, the RTC's Bike Committee, Go For Health and Friends of the Rail Trail (FORT). -
