9NEWS Meteorologist Marty Coniglio says that cloudy skies, cooler air and light showers will be around in the morning, with heavier showers along with thunder and lightning in the afternoon and evening.

Most of the rain and thunder will be from Monument Hill to the north and will include foothills and mountain locations over the Front Range.

Marty thinks that some locally heavy rainfall (up to 1 inch per hour) is possible during the afternoon and evening along with up to 1/2 inch diameter hail in some spots.
