"This year's winning posters reflect the artists' concern for the environment and their ideas for protecting it," said Michael Canfield, chief of the ODNR Division of Recycling & Litter Prevention. "Conserving natural resources, saving energy and preventing litter are issues we want Ohio students to think about."
Students were asked to create a color poster illustrating one of the following themes: buying recycled products, recycling, or litter prevention. Teachers across the state judged entries from grades 1-12 and forwarded over 330 local winning entries to ODNR for final selection. Each winner is awarded a $100 savings bond and recycled-content prizes. Each winner's school receives $100 from ISRI for classroom activities or supplies. -
