   Melany Canfield, the school counselor at Mason High School, has been an educator for 12 years. Melany grew up in Mason, and feels fortunate to have been encouraged and supported by this close-knit community. "I love working at Mason High School and am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school. The students, teachers, and parents of MHS are beyond compare!"
   
   As a school counselor, Mrs. Canfield is dedicated to meeting the social and emotional needs of students, as well as their academic needs. She also enjoys helping students with college admission and scholarships. "It is important for all students to have a plan in place in order to accomplish their future goals."

   A graduate of Mason High School, Melany Canfield teaches English I, English II and serves as the advisor to the Branding Iron Yearbook. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1991 with a BA in English. She has been teaching school for 13 years, and says the past three years at Mason High School have been the best of her career!
