Gernot Candolini studied biology at the University of Innsbruck and graduated 1987 as a Magister. In 1982 he spent a year at Baylor University in Texas as a German assistant teacher. From 1988 to 2005 he worked as a high school biology teacher and as a youth worker for the Lutheran Church in Austria. In 1992 he re-discovered the labyrinth as an ancient symbol of knowledge and wisdom. Since then Gernot has travelled through most of Europe to visit the labyrinths in medieval churches and gardens.
