Dr. Ann Candler-Lotven, dean of the OSU College of Education, has stepped down from her administrative post and will assume instructional responsibilities in the field of special education in the coming academic year. Dr. Candler-Lotven has served as dean of the college since 1995. She came to OSU from Texas Tech University where she was a faculty member and associate dean of the College of Education. She led the OSU College of Education through a successful accreditation by the National College Association of Teacher Education in 2000 and was responsible for establishing the College of Education Associates, a very successful fund-raising initiative. She also established the College of Education Hall of Fame, which recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of education. An interim appointment will be announced at a later date.

Dr. Ann Candler Lotven , Dean of the College of Education , said , Georgan Reitmeier is a woman of achievement and extraordinary service who exemplifies this honor. We are pleased to be able to recognize her contributions to the field of child advocacy.. Under Reitmeier's leadership since 1989 , ECI KEEP PACE has become one of the largest programs of its kind , serving nine school districts in 31 zip codes in North Harris County , and currently providing services to almost 600 children.
ECI KEEP PACE is an early childhood intervention program that helps children from birth to three years of age who are behind others their age , and provides assistance to them and their families at no cost to the families. Reitmeier has created a climate of community involvement with ECI KEEP PACE that has greatly increased individual , organizational and corporate financial assistance as well as volunteer support with some 450 volunteers from dozens of organizations.
