   Isidro Cancel was appointed to the Board by Governor Cuomo in August 1991, to fill the unexpired term of former Board President Fred Van Wort. He was re-appointed in 1992 by Governor Cuomo to serve until June, 2003. Mr. Cancel is the first Hispanic to serve on the Board of Trustees and is an alumnus of SUNY Rockland Community College. He is employed by the North Rockland School District as a high school guidance counselor. He received a Masters degree in Education from Long Island University in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
