Most of the teams and players will be coached by their Wings coach or the Wings staff coaches, and the curriculum for the week has been designed by the Wilmette Wings Director of Soccer, Gerry Canavan: USSF "A" Licensed Coach and former fitness coach for the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer.

The Yorkshire Mini-Soccer program was created by Gerry Canavan and Abe Stumme who have taught thousands of children the skills necessary to play recreational and travel soccer.

Gerry is a founding member of the Wilmete Wings Soccer Club and was the 1st Director of Soccer.Gerry served as the Strength and Conditioning coach of the Chicago Fire from 2003 to 2004 and during his tenure with they won the US Open Cup (2003) and made it to the MLS Final (2003).Gerry is a national instructional staff coach for the United States Soccer Federation, and he one of the youngest coaches ever to earn his National "A" coaching license.
