Gail Canales

Washington Heights United Methodist Church and Community Ministries, 153 N. Wood St., will commemorate Mother's Day with Gail Canales as guest speaker at the 11 a.m. worship service.Canales has served as president of the church's United Methodist Women and is a member of the pastor/parish community relations committee.Employed at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center, Canales also is owner/partner at Che Spa/Che Med Day Spa, a member of the Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs, and a past president of the Cereal City Chapter of Blacks in Government.

Coffee house schedule: The Aroma Coffee House at Seventh Day Baptist Church, 202 N. Washington Ave., has announced its concerts for the month.
