   Benito Canales has served as Justice of the Peace, Pct. 4 for almost 25 years and says he would like to serve another term in office because he enjoys the work and especially likes meeting new people.
   
   Canales maintains voters should cast their votes for him because of his many years of experience.
   
   "I have always been fair, impartial and can be trusted," he said.
   
   Canales is a life-long resident of Freer and graduated from high school in 1950. Afterwards, he served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War conflict. Before being appointed to the Justice of the Peace in 1981, he worked as an independent food distributor.
   
   Canales is a member of the J.P. and Constables Association of South Texas, serving as a District Board of Directors of 12 counties. He is presently the VFW Post Commander in Freer and served for five years on the Board of Directors of the Community Action of South Texas. He is also a past president of the Mutualistas Catholic Society of which he currently serves as treasurer.
   
   He and his wife, Barbara, have been married almost 51 years and have three children.
