    Mrs. Canafax was born January 9, 1938 and grew up in Olney, Illinois.She also has lived in Washington D.C.Now she is the current Village President of Wilmette.Mrs. Canafax lives in Wilmette.

    Mrs. Canafax is the current Village President.This her second term in this position.She has held this position for five years.She is important because she makes village policies and works with the village's annual budget.

    An Interesting Fact:

    As a child, Mrs. Canafax wanted to be a doctor so she started to help sick people.In college she wanted to be a lawyer.Mrs. Canafax soon attended law school.She states that her responsibilities keep her so busy with reunions and parades and work in her home office, that she sometimes doesn't have a chance to do family things.When Mrs. Canafax is at her village office, she loves the people she works with.She admits that it takes a lot of work to become elected for Village President.She considers herself famous because she is on television, or does speeches in front of lots of people.

    She served on the Village Board when trustees adopted the handgun ban in 1989, and she won re-election to a second term after using the issue in her platform.
