   Marty joined the staff of Derbyshire in August 2003. He grew up in Beaufort, SC, is a graduate of Charleston Southern University and in 1980 received his Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Christian education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
   
   Rev. Canaday has 27 years of experience in Christian education serving First Baptist Church, in Waynesboro, GA, Ridge Baptist Church in Richmond, VA, Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, VA, and Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC.
   
   Marty and his wife, Connie, who is a nurse practitioner, have three daughters. Kristin, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, is married and living in Summerville, SC.
