Paula Camposano-Robinson, who played a leadership role from the beginning of the Marco Island Urgent Care Center to the development of the Marco Healthcare Center campus, has resigned to begin a health-care-related business on Marco.

Camposano-Robinson said she could not disclose the types of services they will provide, but she said they will be multifaceted.
"Due to various confidential aspects, I can only say that the specific directions and scope of the business will be announced by the end of the year," she said.

After coming to Marco Island in 1977, Camposano-Robinson served as a nurse in the intensive care unit at Naples Community Hospital.
When the Marco Island Urgent Care Center, now called the Gene Sarazen Urgent Care Center, opened in February 1985, she was named head nurse.In 1993, she was named acting director of the center, and she became director in 1994.
In 1998, Camposano-Robinson was promoted to executive director.She took part in the development of the wellness center adjacent to the urgent care facility, which led to the campus being named the Marco Healthcare Center.
In 2002, she became a development officer for the NCH Healthcare Foundation, serving the Macro campus and, this year, the North Naples campus, taking part in the expansion of North Collier Hospital.
"My years at the health-care center were some of the best years of my career," Camposano-Robinson said."I came directly from nursing school to NCH and Marco Healthcare Center.With my diverse jobs, I had many opportunities to work with the board of trustees, volunteers and members of the community, and follow my high commitment to customer service.
"Over the years I got to meet and work with many wonderful people, including the Squire, Gene Sarazen, the gentle giant who was a personal friend who supported the center in many ways."
Camposano-Robinson called Morton a "visionary and outstanding leader who brought the hospital to the highly advanced facility it is today."

Camposano-Robinson was named Marco Island Volunteer of the Year in 1993, and she was named one of the top 30 Marco leaders of the 20th century by a community panel selecting movers and shakers from the pioneer era, the Deltona era and today.
