   During his seven years as a SSTFY member, Dan Campolieta played the male lead in 5 shows, his last as the Prince in Cinderella. He was also SSTFY president for 2 years. While at SHS, he won numerous jazz and classical keyboard awards and was the 2003 vocal winner of Symphony in Simsbury. He is currently completing a dual major in music education and organ performance in the honors program at UCONN; he is also a New England Scholar and Presidential Scholar. Dan teaches piano privately, is in several jazz bands at UCONN, sings professionally with Voce, and performs jazz and classical music locally. He is the new organist and youth music director at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

   AHCC Welcomes Our New Organist , Daniel J. Campolieta After a nearly 7 month process, the Organist Search Committee is pleased to announce the hire of our new Organist. Dan Campolieta is a senior at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a dual degree in Music Education and Organ Performance. In May 2007, he will have completed all requirements for the Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance, with his final school year spent completing the fifth year of the sequence for the Bachelor of Science in Music Education, with graduation in May 2008. Dan has studied and played the piano for seventeen years, the organ for nine years, and has been a church musician since 1998. He is well-versed in a variety of liturgies, having held music ministry positions in both Protestant and Catholic churches, as well as participating in Jewish worship traditions. In his most recent position at the First Church of Christ in Unionville, he planned and implemented all choral, vocal and instrumental music. In addition to his church music experience, Dan has extensive experience as an ensemble member, composer and conductor. You may recognize his name from a recent Hartford Courant article about his playing with jazz legend Chick Corea at UCONN last month. He has also worked with children and young adults as Assistant Music Director for the Simsbury Summer Theater for Youth, the Park Road Playhouse and as an instructor at the Simsbury Music and Arts Center. Dan is the Director/Composer for the Modern Chamber Ensemble, a group he founded, and he sings as a member of the professional vocal ensemble, VOCÉ.
   
   Dan grew up in the First Church of Christ in Simsbury where his family still worships. Besides his duties at the organ and with the Sanctuary Choir, Dan will be working with Steve Mitchell to design and implement the Music Ministry of AHCC.
