Danielle Campo - Recent Graduate - Child and Youth Worker '06Danielle Campo overcame a rare form of muscular dystrophy to become a college graduate, national speaker, and decorated Paralympian.She won three gold medals and one silver in swimming at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, where she set a world record in the women's 100m freestyle.Just 22 years old, she has earned the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, and has been invested with the Order of Ontario.Today, Danielle is a Resource Support Worker with the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society.She is also a spokesperson for Muscular Dystrophy Canada and for Citizens' Advocacy.In November of 2006, she was recognized as Fanshawe's 100,000th graduate. -
