Anthony Campo, owner of Forest Millworks Inc., was on a family vacation in California when the hurricane paid a visit to his home town of Greensburg, LA. "When we left, the storm was supposed to turn and hit the Florida panhandle. We couldn't get any communications," he said. Campo returned home six days later to find that only the door of his shop had sustained damage. His relatives did not fare as well. Campo's brother lost the roof of his home and his sister in New Orleans will lose her home. "The most important thing is that everyone gets their lives back to normal. There will be some psychological scars," Campo said.
Gas lines are three to four hours long at the local truck stop, Campo added, but one positive note is that large companies have rented lots in trailer parks to set up housing for area residents who have lost their homes.
"I've got feelers out for more workers," Campo said.
