    CAMPESE RE-SIGNS WITH RAIDERS
    ...
CFMEU Canberra Raiders five-eighth Terry Campese has re-signed with the Green Machine, after agreeing to a new two year deal today.

Campese, 23, has been in career best form in 2008 for the Raiders, and has established himself as the clubs premier five-eighth with some solid performances.

After a lengthy negotiation process Campese said it's great to finally have his future sorted, and although he admitted it had been a long process, said his focus had always been and would continue to be on his football.

"To sign the deal today is great, it's a two year deal which is what I wanted and it's good to get it over the line," Campese said."It's been on my mind for a few weeks now, but I've been trying not to think about it but its hard when it's in the papers, but now it's all done I can focus on footy."

A Queanbeyan junior, Campese said all he ever wanted to do growing up was to play for the Raiders, and was hoping to go on and establish himself as one of the most loyal servants for the Green Machine.

"It's what I've wanted since I was a little kid, and I got the opportunity when I was 18 to come and play here after I finished school," he said."My goal is to stay here for the rest of my career."

Campese said signing a new contract had capped off a big week for him, following his engagement to his long term partner Sarah.

"I proposed to my girl the night before last, and it's just a bonus that this contract has come as well," he said."We had a good win against the Broncos, that's where it started, my girl said yes to me so that's a bonus, and now the contract, so its been a good week and hopefully we can smash the dogs tomorrow," he said.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said it was great to finally have Terry's and the clubs future secure, and Campese was another example of some good local talent in the ACT region.

"Terry is a local product who has always expressed his desire to stay in Canberra so to have him agree is a great boost for the Raiders and the region."

    Campese re-signs with the Raiders

    August 10, 2006

Canberra Raiders utility Terry Campese has agreed to a new two year deal with the green machine, in a move that will see him remain in Canberra and Rugby League until at least the end of the 2008 season.

Campese is the current captain of the Raiders Premier League team, and has shown a great versatility for the Raiders this season by playing a number of positions including second row, lock and five-eighth.

A local junior who has sprung from the Rugby League breeding ground of Queanbeyan, Campese will look to 2007 as a chance to play more first grade football, in a new look Raiders side under new Coach Neil Henry.
    ...
Campese said he is looking forward to the challenge of returning to the Raiders first grade side next year, and is keen to make more of an impact in the Rugby League arena.

"Obviously with Jason Smith going there is a chance to go back up to first grade next season, so that's something I will be working on over the off-season," Campese said.
    ...
"Terry's time in the back row has helped him to develop into more of a running five-eighth and improved his game immensely," Elliott said.
    ...
"I'm sure next year Terry will definitely be in the first grade mix."
    ...
"Terry is a great prospect and at the age of 22 still has plenty of football ahead of him," Furner said.
