   span class="hl">Campese, a goaltender during his playing days, is a graduate of the WHL, having won a Memorial Cup with the Portland Winter Hawks in 1983.He was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft and played professional hockey in Europe (Division One).During Campese's playing days in Europe, he played 8 years with the Italian National Team, making six appearances in the World "A" Championships and competed in the 1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway.Campese won a number of championships including the 1998 Austria League, 1997-98 European League and Italian League Championships in 1991, 1993 and 1994.Campese retired from playing in 2000.
   
   Upon returning to North America, Campese was named the Head Coach with the Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL) from 2000-02.He has WHL experience as an Assistant Coach with the Calgary Hitmen from 2002-04 before being hired as Coach and Director of Hockey Operations in Penticton starting in the 2003-04 campaign.In his three seasons with the Vees, Campese had a record of 107-53-6-14 (.650 winning percentage).In the past 2 campaigns, Penticton has had a record of 82-27-4-7 (.738) winning the Interior Division Championship in 06 and Interior Division Regular Season Title in 2006 and 2007 under Campese.
   
   Besides his Coach of the Year Award in 2006-07, Campese helped coach the Gold Medal winning team at the World Junior A Challenge 2006 in Yorkton; was a Coach at the CJAHL Prospects Game in 2006; and Coach at the BCHL All Star Game in 2006 and 2007.

   Since joining the Vees in May 2004 Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Bruno Campese has transformed the Vees organization into one of the most highly respected Junior A hockey programs in Canada.
   
   In the 2004-2005 season Campese guided the Vees to a fifth place finish and a first round playoff series win over Trail. The victory over the Smoke Eaters was the first playoff series win in Penticton since 2001-2002. Then in 2005-2006 Bruno coached the team to a first place finish in the Interior Division and improved the Vees by sixteen wins and twenty nine points. He also took the team to the BCHL Finals in the playoffs and under his leadership the Vees won Penticton's first Interior Division Playoff Championship since 1998.
   
   Campese's regular season record in his two seasons in Penticton is 66-39-4-11 and his record in the playoffs is 14-11. In the 2006 season Penticton lead the league in NCAA commitments with nine and the team achieved a BCHL record low goals against with 137. Campese has been a key contributor to junior hockey in Penticton as a goaltender for the Penticton Knights in the 1980's and as the current V.P. of Hockey Operations and Head Coach of the Vees.
   
   Penticton Vees ownership is very happy that Campese is continuing on with the team. "We are extremely pleased to have Bruno under a new contract extension with the Vees organization moving forward.
